Today we are in Garden Valley, Idaho.
Here’s a quick rundown of our week:
1) started and finished preparations for our 7 week road trip to Alaska and back.
2) had a picnic dinner with the wonderful Scott family!
3) Charlie & Savannah are swingers!
4) Wednesday we were joined at Lava Hot Springs by the Bells and a contingent of Lincoln’s family.
5) we enjoyed the hot lava pools ranging from 102° to 112°.
6) the dive platforms in the water park enticed Lincoln and Scott. You’ll see evidence of Scott bravely taking the plunge!!!
7) river rafting the Portneuf River was invigorating and refreshing. Not long. So we repeated it 5 times!
8) if you, like me, enjoy winning, then make sure to invite Scott to play UNO.
9) it was sweet to have Slater join our camp out.
10) we parted ways Saturday morning and headed on the Craters of the Moon. You have to REALLY want to see this volcanic rich wilderness area. It won’t disappoint you. We hiked up the Inferno Cone, the Snow Cone, and a Splatter Cone, then climbed through the Indian Tunnel (a lava tube) and topped off the day with a Star Gazing Party hosted by professional and amateur astronomers who host this gathering twice a year. Lucky us!!!✨⭐️π« (CotM has a Dark Sky Designation) If you get the chance…GO!
