April 2016

Greg came this month!  He stayed until Wednesday morning, April 13th.
We spent Monday and Tuesday sightseeing and fishing in the Keys.

On Friday, April 15th, I threw Lane a belated B-day party.  Like 4 weeks belated.  The element of surprise is guaranteed when the surprisee forgets he had a birthday.

Yes, I put 68 candles on his cake.
Nobody would eat it for all the wax drippings.
3 dozen friends came to eat meatball subs and suck helium.

Our Church service took us to KeyWest on the 17th.
Tough gig, but somebody gets to do it!!!
Afterwards a sweet couple took pity on us and
invited us in for a traditional roast beef dinner.
“God does notice us, and He watches over us.
But it is usually through another person that He meets our needs.”
~ Pres. Spencer W Kimball
So true!!!

This was parked in their front yard…

One day we will miss these pristine waters.  Can you name the color?
Ocean Spray * Cool Aqua * Sea Mist * Morning Tide * Lagoona Teal

I’ve been kicking’ it live with the Hansen’s in Lake Stevens Washington
since the 23rd. --I was listed as the 4th standby passenger on a
sold-out flight to get here and miraculously was the only
one to get a coveted boarding pass.
--Lane tagged along a day later.

Violet is reminded she has a grandmama from Florida.

We played the waiting game for 3 days...then Baby Hatcher arrived.

8 lbs 12 ozs of extreme cuteness from an unbiased g’ma

Several days later I finished weaving in the loose ends (all 750+).

Then Britni and Brian celebrated the 10th anniversary
of becoming parents on the 29th…
coincidentally that is also Dalia’s birthday!  ;o}

Jerry & Erin’s family dropped by the Hansen’s over the past weekend
(minus Jerry who had work commitments).  So fun!
But it would've been even more fun WITH Jerry.

My sweetie made hand-dipped chocolate-covered-cinnamon-bears for me.
Oh how I hate to love them!!!  And he knows that.  But he made them anyway.
He says "you don't have to eat them".
Oh, but I do.

Just you wait - g’kids fill a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.

I fall into bed happily worn out each night.

Other news this month:
The Gerber’s celebrated their 7th anniversary on April 25th.  Congrats guys!

Remembering Dillon, who turns 10...in Earth years.

INDIA

India
March 27th - April 8th

We are traveling with a private tour of 14 folks - family & friends.
Besides us these include:
Steph & Jerel B., who invited their oldest son Caden (age 17)
Lincoln & Carrie H., who invited their oldest son Matthew (age 13)
The kid's Uncle Mac & Aunt Pam
And 2 couples - friends and neighbors of Bullocks -

Mike & Pam R. and Craig & Diana J.

Sadly Mac & Pam had problems with their Delta connection

from SLC to San Francisco resulting in their missing the flight
to India on Sunday.  But fortunately they recovered and have
now joined us, only missing one day of the tour.

Here's a few photos from our trip so far:

Iconic India

Our group members were so much fun to travel with:

Very cool architecture

Ranthambore National Tiger Park

Namaste
An Indian greeting which means “the God in me recognizes the God in you”.

This is INDIA????

THIS is India!!!!

It was a FABULOUS trip!  And now it’s grand to be home.  We flew Dehli to Beijing to San Francisco to JFK to Miami.  Boy, are my arms tired!   It took 30 hours in the air with an additional 12 hours in airports.

Progress continues on the afghan for the Hansen's baby boy - due April 20th.

March 2016

...up in the air...

March 3rd - I sit at the Ft Lauderdale airport ready
to board our first flight towards Seattle through JFK.
At the last moment Lane opted to join me for Tesila’s baptism.
The Hansen home is full of life and is always welcoming.

We reminded Violet that she has additional grandparents who love her.

Rockwell is warming up to the idea.

The baptism girl designed and created her
dress with the assistance of her G'ma Hansen.
Tesila has a special place in my heart.

Tesila ROSE Hansen

We had a wonderful whirlwind adventure with the Hansens.
Chow darlings!  Flight home to Miami on March 7th.

Elder Hill returned home Wednesday, March 9th and
Sister Hill opened her mission call that same day.
She leaves for Singapore (English speaking) on July 13th!!!

Sabrina Edith H. arrives early - March 11th.  So I fly to SLC
arriving on the 12th.  Sabrina is still in the hospital
so I sneak in a visit to the Gerber's.  On the 13th I hear
Robert's homecoming talk (one of the best I've heard),
and I hug 25 outstanding g'kids...beginning with these four !!!

Welcome Sabrina - such a sweet baby.
This family is so excited to have her here.

Centerville: bogged down with a cough and congestion
my time with Sabrina was limited. Rather, I spent time
with the elder g'kids.  A hike, a playground, 'old mcdonalds',
a chocolate factory, and Krispy Kreme.

Grandkid dates with Slater, Audrey, Adelaide and Emeline.

A visit from Greg, a lunch with my mother and 3 siblings and
then I fly to Cedar City to await Jami and Chris' baby girl.

This is one of my all-time favorite afghans.
Completed just in time.

I loved seeing my baby full-term.
She is a great hostess and now ready to be a great mommy.

I whisper: "Come quickly baby.  I must leave for India on the 26th."
Chris was home on Sunday so I took time to visit the McArthur
family in St George.  When I returned to Cedar City that evening
Jami was in labor!  At 2 a.m. I joined the Robisons at the hospital
as the photographer so Chris could support Jami and marvel at
the miracle that is birth!  It's been 29 years since I witnessed a birth.
It was tough watching Jami suffer yet she was incredibly tenacious
through the process.

March 21st.  Welcome darling granddaughter!

BONUS:  Jerry's family stops by to get acquainted with this new cousin.

Meanwhile...
Lane is ably holding down the fort in Florida this week during
stake girls camp...in Orlando. He's a rock star with the YW

Chris drives me to St George.
Ron and Phyllis Sue drive me to the Las Vegas Airport.
JetBlue flys me to San Francisco where Lane is
waiting for me to join him on our flight to India.

Lane’s a peach.  He is smart, fun and cute.
I don’t play the lottery because I already won it.
