Thanksgiving 2013

Here are a few scenes from our 2013 Thanksgiving 

celebration at the Laketown Lodge.

8 bedrooms, 7 baths, sleeps 50 (we had 55)

Gobble-gobble.  

That's turkish for:  "We have much to be thankful for!"  

Thankful that X made these cute 'photo booth' visuals.  

Amazed that Callie prepared 216 deviled eggs…

all because she didn't want Momma C 

contaminating them with pickles.

Grateful that kids like to color...

and Ave likes whipped cream. 

It was so fun to watch Tom's family perform during 

"Talent Sharing Time".

Glad that X (and Greg) mapped out the family 5K.

EXTREMELY thankful that GREG & kids were with us. 

(Crepe paper party decorations were in honor of 

Jamie Howell's birthday, Nov 29th.)

Cooking for 55 was non-stop.

Thankful that Britni planned kids crafts.

I love to color!

Our thanksgiving was thrilling and tasty.

The only downside was missing Cam and Linc's families.

NOVEMBER HIGHLIGHTS

How much fun can a person have in one month?  

What amazes me is that I have this much fun every month, 

time and time again.  I'm getting tired from so much fun.

Lane crocheted this CHRISTmas afghan for my mother.

Sadly, what we remember most was the laborious lunch fiasco.

Partial Week 15

Days 99 to 100 of a 100 day 

mega road trip across Canada 

…and then home again!

Day 99 ~ Nov 3rd

Today we said good-bye to Cam's family and the 

Gerbers, who fly to Oregon and Utah respectively.  

(The camera was asleep when Cam's 

family left for the airport at 4:15 a.m.)

And good-bye to the Orlando vacation home…It's been real!

THANK YOU to Chloe, Raylie, Justin, Anissa, Callie, Rayson, 

Kim and Cameron for spending time with us this week.

Our final push starts today.

It's been a perfect day for driving 

~ Florida ~ Alabama ~ Mississippi ~

We are inching our way closer to Utah.

Day 100 ~ Nov 4th

Final Trip email

We love the South!

Catfish - livers - red beans&rice - peanut butter cake

This email marks the end of 100 days of intrusive, 

possibly annoying daily photo logs.  

We will stop missing you in a day or two.  Over and out…Zzzzzz.

Cadillac Ranch ~ Amarillo, Texas

Occasionally I think my husband is nuts for seeking out stopping spots 

like Cadillac Ranch in 'Armadillo' (his word), Texas.  After a 100 day 

road trip (on the heels of a 2 year mission) some might bee line home. 

But once again, he was right!   

We came with white and black paint, sprayed "WE R HERE!"  

Our first tag was too generic so we added our initials.  Then we 

made friends of strangers, shared the spray paint and took photos.  

Last stop, for reals, the Poulsons (Lane's sister).

Denver hospitality!!!
