February 2021

2.28.2021

Hello fabulous, forthright and flexible featured family,

This week’s picture:

1)  In preparation to publish our home for rent on Zillow I took photos to highlight its' unique features.
2)  For instance, the map wall.
3)  I removed over 112 map pins.
4)  And without them, I think the wall looks even better.  Perhaps not as interesting but nice.
5)  I know at least one of you was curious enough to search out our listing.  It’s down now.
6)  Surprisingly we had many ‘hits’, 3 showings, still others on a waiting list.
7)  So many interested that we deactivated the ad yesterday.
8)  It appears we’ll move out May 1st.
9)  That leaves nearly 10 weeks until we temporarily vacate.  We’ll be BACK!
10)  10 weeks. 10 local families.  We look so forward to hosting each family individually and planning something fun to do.  Can we begin with Tom’s family this Thursday, March 5th for tapioca?  Everyone else, we suggest a Sunday afternoon or evening. (Ideas: games, food, shaved ice...) If you are interested please choose your preferred date (1st and 2nd choice).  March 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, April 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th?  (We DoorDash Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays.)  If you are not interested, or cannot find time, we will come find you after our retirement trip to Mongolia (May-June).

Dates to remember:
February 29th - Tesila can’t wait 3 years to celebrate her birthday, so she’s fudging and eating cake on March 1st.
March 6th - Emeline will be 15 on Saturday.  So close to driving, she can almost taste it.  Don’t even think about the countdown to dating.
March 7th - Carrie & Lincoln mark 2 decades as a married couple.  That’s T-W-E-N-T-Y short years!

Let us know about a possible date that we can host your family.  For Jerry & Erin, Cameron & Kim, Britni & Brian, Jami & Chris, we’ll bring the party to you sometime.

We love you forever,

This one was too easy.  It’s at the heart of everything I do.

YOU.

1.  "In family relationships love is really spelled t-i-m-e, time.” Dieter F Uchtdorf

2.  “At the end of your life, you will never regret not having passed one more test, not winning one more verdict, or not closing one more deal.
You will regret time not spent with a husband, a friend, a child, a parent.”  Barbara Bush

3.  “Family time is sacred time and should be protected and respected.”  Boyd K Packer

4.  “While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.”  Angela Schwindt

5.  “It is more important than ever to make our families the center of our lives and the top of our priorities.” L Tom Perry

6.  “When in doubt, choose the kids. There will be plenty of time later to choose work.”  Anna Quindlen

7. “Children will not remember you for the material things you provided, but for the feeling that you cherished them.”  Richard L. Evans

8. “No other success can compensate for failure in the home.”  David O. McKay

9.  “When you love what you have, you have everything you need.”  Unknown

10. “The ultimate treasures on earth and in heaven are our children.”  Elder Dallin H. Oaks

Hmmm. Please tell me your favorite family quote, favorite family pastime, or favorite family member ;o}

Important dates to remember:
24th  Britni celebrates her 38th birthday!
27th  Chris marks his 41st “cake’n’presents” day.
29th This is Tesila’s anti-birthday as leap year is non-existent this year.  I’m confused.  Which week do I not recognize it?

We love you forever,

Especially today, I hope you feel how much I love you and how grateful I am to have you in my life.

Last night the snow fell soft and crisp and white as snow should be.  Last weekend it fell brown and invaded by dust injected into the storm clouds blown in from the western desert.  White snow beats brown snow.  And yellow snow.

* Today is Valentine’s Day.  Or, as men like to call it, Extortion Day.
* Do you like raisins?  How do you feel about a date?
* If I was in charge of the alphabet I would put “u” and “i” together.
* Today I will enjoy long, romantic walks to the fridge.
* I love you because you are almost exactly like me and I’m the best.
* Love is a dream that came to life when we met.
* If I had to choose between loving you and breathing, I would use my last breath to say I love you.
Miles apart, but close at heart.
* Love is the greatest adventure.
* I love being married.  It’s so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.

Tell me how you feel about Valentine’s Day…on a scale of 1 to 10.  (10 being sublime)

Hugs and kisses and Valentine wishes.  xoxo

Dear sweet, wonderful, marvelous, accomplished family!

We love you each so very much. These past 11 months have brought unpleasant, unexpected events into our lives. But we've observed how you've braced for the unknown and embraced necessary change. We are proud of you. You have taught us to look ahead, keep moving, and shout out "life is what you make it".

[picture of the week]

1) not many pics this week.
2) I snapped this one before the Superbowl.
3) Cam & Kim stayed over a few days as they dropped by for Judy Dunford's 80th birthday.  (We happened to be in Ohio)
4) Our home is our oasis.
5) a brave couple stopped by to meet and visit from the front porch, bearing a loaf of hot bread.
6) We DoorDash 3-4 days a week.
7) our winter has been mild.
8) Looks like tomorrow will be nice pickle ball weather.
9) Brady just won his 7th ring. 🐐!
10)  You bettah remember how much you are loved!

Coming soon:
Joseph's birthday is the 12th🎂
One week until Valentine's Day❤️
